What Is Stress?
There isn’t a one-size-fits-all option when it comes to relieving stress. However, what works for one person might not work for another. Stress is our body’s response to pressure. Many different situations or life events can cause stress. It is often triggered when we experience something new, unexpected, or that threatens our sense of self, or when we feel we have little control over a situation.

A stressful work environment can contribute to problems such as headache, stomachache, sleep disturbances, short temper, and difficulty concentrating. Chronic stress can result in anxiety, insomnia, high blood pressure, and a weakened immune system. It can also contribute to health conditions such as depression, obesity, and heart disease. Compounding the problem, people who experience excessive stress often deal with it in unhealthy ways, such as overeating, eating unhealthy foods, smoking cigarettes, or abusing drugs and alcohol.
The key to learning how to manage stress at work so to keep it at a healthy level and make sure it doesn’t become overwhelming. Easier said than done, right? Here are some methods for learning how to relieve stress at work — so you can get back to kicking butt.
What you input into your body affects the output.
You have to work with your brain not against it. In most stressful scenarios your brain will “act up” causing a series of emotions. Your brain also needs fuel, in terms of healthy and organic fuel.
1. Foods like eggs, avocado, walnuts, and dark chocolate support mood regulation and energy balance.
2. Be sure to get enough of these as part of a balanced diet: Vitamin C, Magnesium, Omega-3 fatty acids
3. Antioxidants help too. They protect your cells against damage that chronic stress can cause. You can find them in a huge variety of foods like beans, fruits, berries, vegetables, and spices such as ginger.

Let your body do some thinking
Exercise is one of the most important things you can do to combat stress. It might seem contradictory, but putting physical stress on your body through exercise can relieve mental stress. People who exercise also tend to feel less anxious and more positive about themselves. When your body feels good, your mind often follows. Get a dose of stress relief with these exercises:
1. Running or walking

5. Yoga- offers a variety of physical, psychological, and spiritual benefits. Yoga combines physical movement, meditation, light exercise, and controlled breathing; all of which provide excellent stress relief.
Get a massage- massage therapy relieves muscle tension. When you’re stressed, your muscles tighten in response, and when the stress ends, your muscles generally relax. But if you’re constantly stressed, it’s likely your muscles can stay slightly, permanently tensed

7. Breathing- The most important element, I believe, that reduces stress and anxiety. Try 3 deep 7 seconds breathes in and out and see how your body shifts its vibe.
Write It Down
It’s better to see it front of you than trying to remember
Writing simply takes what is in your mind and puts it on a piece of paper. Once that happens you can see what is going on inside that universe of yours, and detect what is causing this stress. It honestly helps you gain control of your thoughts.
1. Organization-Sit down and write out everything you need to get done and each step you’ll need to take to complete each task. Prioritize what must be done first and identify what can be left to a later time or what you might be able to assign to someone else. Be realistic about how much time it will take you to complete each task and build space into your schedule to reward yourself for getting the job done.
2. Journaling- is one of the best ways to clear your mind and get in touch with your thoughts and feelings, forcing you to focus on your internal awareness of the present and process your experiences. By gaining this focus, you can obtain clarity around what is most important.
Laugh, Play Around, Conversate.
Take some time and be a kid for a couple of minutes.
It’s hard to be an adult all the time. Accepting help from trusted friends and family members can improve your ability to manage stress. Telling friends or family members about the stress-relief strategies you’re trying out will help you integrate them into your life. As a bonus, it’s bound to start an interesting conversation: everyone relates to the topic of stress.
